Gerald Kornreich Recognized with Counselor Award in Honor of Maurice Jay Kutner’s Legacy by The First Family Law American Inn of Court

Gerald I. Kornreich was recognized at the Inn of Court Celebration of Excellence on December 9, 2021, with a Counselor Award in Honor of Maurice Jay Kutner’s Legacy by The First Family Law American Inn of Court. Maurice Jay Kutner was one of the founding members of the Inn, served as a Captain in the United States Army, as former Chair of the Family Law Section of the ABA, was one of the top divorce lawyers in the country, and a true legend in the field.

The award reads: “with gratitude and appreciation for your counsel to the leadership of The First Family Law American Inn of Court.” Kornreich served as a mentor and counselor to the leadership of the Inn, providing advice on programs and ethics to the leaders of the group throughout the year. He is the Lifetime Pro Bono Chair of the Inn and annually organizes the Turkey Drive supporting needy families during Thanksgiving, and a Toy Drive benefiting Lotus House.

This year, Kornreich invited the Inn of Court to participate as a co-sponsor of The 36th Annual View from the Bench Seminar, an event he has moderated for all 36 years. This year’s program was the most successful Family Law Pro Bono Guardian ad Litem recruitment education event in over three (3) decades. Kornreich received the award from outgoing President Amber Kornreich, who attributed the Inn’s Platinum Level designation to the advice and support of Counselors Gerald Kornreich and Evan Marks, both Former Inn Presidents, who stepped in to the esteemed roles of Counselor after Maurice Jay Kutner’s passing in 2020.
